​​Job Description:

  • This position is Responsible for the implementation and support of the Warehouse Management System – (WMS) from Manhattan Associates at selected client locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Develop, implement, support, and manage the WMS across applicable facilities.

  • Coordinate ongoing maintenance, changes, and updates to the WMS, along with additional warehouse changes including automation and interfaces.

  • Manage project budget restrictions and align with key decision-makers on any adjustments.

  • Support Operations teams through WMS applications and implementation.

  • Support other distribution systems (Sortation Software, Voice Directed Picking, etc).

  • Train associates on WMS systems and procedures.

  • Gather and organize information on procedures, or specific issues.

  • Analyze data, gather and develop solutions or alternative methods of processing needs.

  • Confer with associates concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems & procedures.

  • Develop reports, alerts, and health checks that are essential to the business and the health of the WMS.

  • Use creative solutions to help solve complex system or procedural issues of the business.

Job Role Impact

  • This position will have a wide impact both internally and externally at the client.

  • Will impact day-to-day operations.

  • Will impact customers through shipments to them.

  • Will impact suppliers through receiving supplier products into the warehouses across the country.

  • Will impact the bottom line.

  • If the job is done well, the client can reduce its costs of doing business, impact customer satisfaction positively, and reduce inventory, among other areas of the WMS ROI.

  • If the job is not done well, the client will have problems tracking inventory and shipping products to customers, which will impact customer satisfaction negatively and could have a significantly negative impact on client bottom line.

  • Success for this position will parallel the success factors of the WMS implementation.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from four-year college preferred specifically in warehouse and logistics management or industrial engineering; or three or more years related experience and/or training in Warehouse Management Systems and Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Extensive related experience in the following areas is required for this position: Wine & Spirits or Beverage experience; process design and improvements. Manhattan WMS experience required. Knowledge of wholesale distribution is strongly preferred.  Material Handling (Sortation, Conveyor, etc.) and Voice pick experience is a plus.

  • Language, Reasoning, and Math Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, query databases, and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. 

  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and etc.), and order processing systems (such as Cognos, etc.) or the aptitude to learn.  The ability to write SQL Statements and use APIs to query or manipulate data is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Significant travel ability required (50-75% of weekdays + some weekend)

  • Able to be on call 24/7 during call rotation for one week at a time
