Team Description:

  • The Web Consulting team is an internal resource for client School of Humanities and Sciences.

  • The team directly develops, manages, or advises on website redesigns for our academic departments,

  • programs, institutes and centers, as well as labs and other units on campus.

  • We have a culture of outstanding customer satisfaction, excellent delivery of projects on time and on

  • We are looking for an energetic User support and training specialist. As a key member of the School of

  • Humanities and Sciences IT team, you are responsible for supporting the team and the work of H&S

  • units by providing training materials and documentation, updating sites and key information systems,

  • and helping to advocate for the needs of our platform users.

  • Your work will help bridge the connection between our clients and our web hosting platform. You will

  • touch various stages of development from verifying testing tool findings to reviewing and suggesting

  • UX (user experience) improvements for our site owners as well as contributing to documentation. You

  • will strengthen the voice of the clients in our work. In addition, you will be asked to help support the

  • team with some administrative functions, such as writing a monthly newsletter, updating site content,

  • scheduling trainings and analyzing compliance tool findings.

  • You are a great fit for this job if you have very strong communication skills, are a self-starter and can

  • work independently, strongly value collaboration and humility, and are not afraid to learn new technologies.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-oriented focus

  • Ability to synthesize information

  • Basic understanding of design principles and best practices for the web


  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience or an interest in UX/UI design

  • Training and user documentation experience

  • Content writing/editing experience for the web

  • Previous experience working with Basecamp and/or Asana

  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements for the web

  • Experience in the field of higher education
