​Job Description:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

  • Inventory management/APICS certification in conjunction with adequate work experience will also be considered. Number of years and industry experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with APICS certification.

  • 4-5 years' experience in inventory management, supply chain operations or logistics, Automotive experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Organized, detail oriented with focus on quality, and able to manage competing priorities.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with other departments. 

  • Proficient in comparable computer systems to those used by client, and/or demonstrate an aptitude for learning unfamiliar computer systems that correlate to: SAP Atlas, ILAS data warehouse, Tableau, IDS.

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible as group function to provide administrative support to the Parts Logistics Operations team, specifically Material Master, Critical Supply although will support other Parts Logistics Operations teams as capacity allows.

  • Responsible as a group function to execute clear communication activities with all internal, external, and international stakeholders regarding parts supply for all Technical Actions towards C4-US-A-3 and all relevant NSC functions.

  • Responsible as a group function to provide all dealers timely support in ordering and allocating parts towards C4-US-A-3 and all relevant NSC functions.

  • Responsible as a group function to maintain effective collaboration networks to ensure a seamless supply chain towards C4-US-A-3 and all relevant NSC functions.

  • Compile various data analyses accurately and in a timely manner to support the Material Master, Critical Supply team focusing on: part supply plans actual vs planned, actual vs forecasted demands, proactively identifying specific parts and processes requiring attention.

  • Expeditiously process and resolve technical action IDS tickets received by dealers to maintain our Customers loyalty to client's Group brands.

  • Protect the safety of our Customers by executing established dealer allocation strategies for all Technical Action parts (i.e. recalls, service actions, class actions), ensuring vehicles are repaired as quickly as possible and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Escalate and inform Parts Logistics Management of part availability issues and material flow challenges.

  • Enter outbound sales orders on dealer behalf resulting from IDS tickets, parts escalations, extraordinary circumstances.

  • Support effective internal communications by maintaining up-to-date shared files on MS Teams for all Technical Actions (i.e. overall supply requirements, VDC supply requirements, actual vs forecasted supply plan, etc.).

  • Manage dealer backorders involving Technical Action parts according to the specific status of each part number.

  • Execute daily monitoring of approximately 300 Technical Action part numbers. Monitoring criteria include: stock on hand, stock in-transit, quantity on open purchase orders with supplier, inbound shipment ETAs.

  • Prepare adhoc reporting across all technical campaigns.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • The Material Master, Critical Supply team is integral to Customer safety and Brand image, and as such requires continuous proactive monitoring, effective collaboration with stakeholders, and execution/adaptation of distribution strategies and processes.

  • Due to influences outside of client's Group control (i.e. geopolitical climate, supply chain labor strikes, energy shortage in Europe, global semi-conductor chip shortages), global supply chains continue to be disrupted and unpredictable which directly impacts our ability to serve our Customers and ensure their safety.

  • Supply chain disruptions prevent securing part supply in a timely manner risking client's Group exposure to personal injury, property damage or vehicle repurchases at a client's Group cost of $74,000/vehicle.

  • Whilst the service parts assortment grows and becomes increasingly technical, our supply chain becomes more complex with supplier-specific and/or service part number-specific supply challenges that must be managed independently.

  • This role will generate actionable data analyses for Management to make informed decisions for pro-active Technical Action part supply engagement and ensuring parts availability.

  • Position requires continuous cross-functional collaboration within the BMW Group and maintaining a broad knowledge of our current supply chain performance to ensure word-class service to dealer network.
