Job Description:

  • Come play a pivotal role at Republic National Distributing Company.

  • The Sales Associate plays a key role with our customers.

  • This position works closely with our sales team to provide exceptional customer service to assigned accounts. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Drive a Client van to support special deliveries to on premise accounts, work product from store back stock or delivery loads; aiding sales reps in stocking, handling beverage cases, and working products the company represents. 

  • Provide excellent customer service. 

  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others you encounter throughout your job. 

  • Fill cold boxes and shelves with appropriate merchandise, and rotate product on an ongoing basis. 

  • Maintain the back-stock area to allow for a safe and efficient work environment. 

  • Build displays in stores and maintain POS (point of sale) as necessary. 

  • Interact in direct communication with store personnel and salespeople. 

  • Accurately clock in and out, adhering to state labor laws. 

  • Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. 

  • Maintains defensive driving. 

  • Serves as a positive role model while providing delivery service. 

  • Reads and interprets maps and driving directions and reads and interprets road signs in English. 

  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, customer forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management. 

  • Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges. 

  • Assists in loading and unloading truck manually. 

  • Deliver the merchandise to assigned customers in a prompt, safe, business like, and friendly manner while giving top priority to taking care of our customer's needs. 

  • Return all delivery receipts to the appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift. 

  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner. 

  • Check accuracy and stability of the load. 

  • Maintain company vehicle in an orderly manner. 

  • Complete all paperwork promptly and accurately to support the delivery and billing functions of the company. 

  • Understand and interpret policies and procedures to make decisions independently. 

  • Build and maintain quality customer relationships. 

  • Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of company products to our customers. 

  • Collaborate with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns and resolutions. 

  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles. 

  • Inspecting vehicle and equipment for job readiness and safe operation. 

  • Interacts with internal departments and customers to resolve delivery and account problems as they occur throughout the day. 

  • Serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and the company’s management. 

Required qualifications: 

  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and clean DMV record. 

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. 

  • Walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl daily. 

  • 18+ years of age. 

Desired qualifications: 

  • Previous grocery or retail experience. 

  • Basic knowledge of wine. 

  • General knowledge of industry products. 

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Effective organizational and time management skills. 

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Keen sense of direction: You should know how to read a map and find your way around your delivery area. 

  • The desire to work as part of a team and enthusiasm for learning.
