Greets customers promptly and assists with sales in a friendly manner
Rings up sales, following appropriate procedures and guidelines, to assist the customer with their purchase.
Handles phone orders, ensuring all information taken is correct, appropriate forms are completed and merchandise is
delivered to correct room.
Ensures merchandise is well-stocked, neatly displayed and orderly to satisfy customer demand.
Opens cash register and verifies that beginning drawer is accurate, notifying supervisor immediately if there is a
Follows all appropriate guidelines and procedures regarding charges, payroll deduction, layaways, and gift certificates
when ringing up sales.
Closes out cash register at the end of the day, ensuring monies balance according to register read out, completing
appropriate balance sheet, and notifying supervisor of any discrepancies.
Ensures merchandise is transferred following appropriate procedures.
Assists in training volunteers and new associates in cash register functions, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of basic math, cash register functions, cash handling, inventory management, and computer skills.
Ability to appropriately handle cash and charge transactions and excellent customer service skills.
H.S. Diploma or GED- Required
