Job Description:
Primarily be responsible for protein intact/reduced/subunit mass/peptide mapping analysis, data processing, results upload
Good task and time management manner is critical.
Maintain mass spec sample submission system; communicate results in a highly cross functional team to colleagues and sample submitters as needed.
Serve as LC-MS instrument point of contact, follow maintenance procedure and coordinate instrument services.
With assistance, explore new technologies in the fields of mass spectrometry and automation.
Work with minimal direction to complete assigned tasks.
Consults colleagues for advice on issues.
Works in context of immediate work group or team.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA's):
PhD degree in Biochemistry or related discipline with 0-5 year of hands-on relevant experience focusing on protein biologics; MS degree in Biochemistry or related discipline with at least 3 years post-graduate experience.
Technical experience in mass spectrometry characterization of protein is strongly desired.
Knowledge in protein expression and purification is a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to present scientific data in group setting.
Must have good multi-task skill and time management skill.
Able to work in a collaborative manner across functional areas within matrix organization.
Have mastery of basic lab skills.
Familiarity with data retrieval and input from database.
Familiarity with work and business practices to be able to identify and troubleshoot routine problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires an individual with a MS/Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology to participate in research programs developing targeted cancer therapeutics.
Post-graduate experience of 0-5 years required for Ph.D.; for MS, the qualified candidate must have at least 3 years of post-graduate research experiences with track record of success.
The mass spectrometry hands-on experience is a plus.
Relevant skills include protein purification, protein characterization, and proteomics.
A broad understanding of protein chemistry and molecular biology concepts within the cancer biology field is desirable but not required.
The qualified candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability for creative thinking and problem solving.
