Job Description:

JD for Network Operation Engineer Role: 

  • A network operations engineer’s responsibilities include managing all aspects of network operations center, management of connectivity, network performance, maintaining network software configurations, managing the distribution of patches and software releases as needed, network and system trouble shooting, monitoring tools, alarm conditions as well as escalation processes and procedures, leading and defining the process of troubleshooting and participating in change management and root cause analysis and interfacing with field operations, engineering team, equipment vendors, and network service providers. Manage day-to-day activities of network operations team responsible for all aspect of maintaining a distributed network, including preventative maintenance, fault isolation, equipment installation and project, manage connectivity, network performance and timely outage resolution.

Experience

  • Min 8 years of Network administration experience in large enterprise environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:   

  • Ensure stable and reliable network services (e.g. access products, service networks and core network).

  • Day-to-day network performance monitoring.

  • Network troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting and repair.

  • Trouble ticket generation and response; carrier interface and escalations.

  • Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis and reporting tools.

  • Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes.

  • Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the Network Operations Team to ensure the stable operation of clients network infrastructure.

  • Responsible to perform Root Cause Analysis, recommendations, and implementation of improvements shall be provided for assigned tickets generated by the agency ticketing system and originating from the NOC and other authorized entities.

  • Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, network security, telecommunications systems and service desk.

  • Responsible for managing and setting priorities for the monitoring and maintenance of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, wireless.

  • Ensures the effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network problems.

  • Coordinates and manages the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities.

  • Ability to problem-solve and think creatively.

  • Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written)

  • Good documentation skills

  • Should have excellent customer handling skills.

  • Able to handle high pressure situations.

Certifications

  • ITIL v3

  • CCNA-R&S or equivalent associate

  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP

  • OEM specific certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, IBM, Azure, AWS etc.)
