Job Description:

  • The Report Developer functions as the primary support contact and expert for Epic reports. 

  • They work under the direction of Reporting Manager to configure, build & develop Epic reports and provide guidance to more junior level team members.

  • They have superior ability to work with reporting customers to understand and document complex reporting needs and are able to coordinate all issues that arise during the reporting project. 

  • Key operational activities include primary responsibility to analyze workflows and understand policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operations related to reporting requirements. 

  • In depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational & report specifications is required.

  • Key technical activities include the analysis of new releases to determine how reporting should be modified, building and populating databases and tables during initial system configuration, conducting report testing and data validation. 

  • The Report Developer develops and documents internal procedures and establishes change control processes for development, modification and retirement of reports. 

  • In addition, he/she will provide support and maintenance of existing Epic Reporting and Analytics out of Epic Clarity and Caboodle and will help support the initiatives of innovation and growth for client health system.

  • Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt the development standards and enjoy helping users enhance their reporting skills.

  • Successful candidates are strong technically and have expert analytical skills in the areas of data extraction, report generation, and information visualization, including SQL Server expertise.

  • 10 Yes Leads project teams that include advanced business and clinical staff to improve clinical informatics results and to provide advice and sophisticated metrics and analytics to support management/decision-making processes for systems modifications that are cost-effective, scalable, and meet present and future needs.

  • 35 Yes Performs highly-complex quality assurance testing, designs and runs SQL (Structured Query Language) queries for enhanced and complex medical data access, and plans, develops, and writes documentation of design and deployment processes, workflows, and results. 10 As a technical leader and information resource, may provide support, troubleshooting, and problem solving at an advanced level, and may produce and deliver user training curricula.

Req Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, design and run queries, collect and analyze performance data, and produce sophisticated reports and analyses for management use. 

Req Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with senior staff and management across departments, providing advice, counsel, and analysis on issues of policy, functionality, system efficiency, upgrades, business analytics, and industry advances and trends. 

Req Having an in depth understanding of both the clinical and business workflows to achieve strategic outcomes for the implementation

Req May be responsible for leading/mentoring other developers within the team Req High proficiency SQL as well as in the use of business intelligence tools such as SAP Universe, Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports. Req Expertise on the Clarity data model and a good working knowledge of how the application(s) collect and store data.
