Job Description:
What you will be doing:
Under the direction of a Sr. Manager or Director, the Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, manages, and supports Data Warehouse and Data Analytics solutions and implementations that cater to Client's business requirements.
Code and maintain data systems and databases for Analytics; this includes fixing coding errors and other data-related problems.
Assist corporate and/or division MHE Business Intelligence projects with evaluations, designs, implementation plans, building, testing, training, documentation, and deployment for Analytics solutions.
Prepare reports for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
Keep all project and management personnel updated in a timely manner with accurate project, and task information.
Participate in requirements, design, documentation, and evaluations.
Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like:
The candidate requires an understanding of Data warehousing and Analytics solutions.
Normally requires some training in fields such as business, project management, administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelors degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of Data Modeling in a data warehouse environment, such as star schema and snowflake schema is a must.
Knowledge of the building blocks of a data warehouse optimized for Business Intelligence, such as fact and dimension tables, is required.
Knowledge of ELT and ETL processes is required.
Programming skills in SQL Server/Oracle in Data warehouse & Analytics are required.
Experience with cloud-based Data Integration tools such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Storage is a plus.
Experience with PowerShell, Python, Azure, or Power BI is a plus.
Experience with Flow Chart design software is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels within the organization (Technical and non-technical resources, external vendors, etc.).
Good interpersonal skills; effective team player.
Strong decision-making skills and customer service skills.
Ability to work on several initiatives, production issues, etc. while meeting committed development delivery dates and managing individuals/teams as required.
Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Willing to travel up to 10% in a year.
