Contract Duration: Long-Term Contract with possibilities of extension
Pay Rate: $48-50/hour
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in a contract position. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and stability of our client's OpenShift and OpenStack infrastructure. Your work will be pivotal in safeguarding our systems, protecting against vulnerabilities, and automating security processes to enhance our overall security posture.
Responsibilities:
Test, validate, and deploy patches and security updates across our OpenShift and OpenStack infrastructure, adhering to vulnerability management SLAs.
Utilize test environments, test procedures, and pilot groups for comprehensive patch testing before full deployment.
Collaborate with application teams to address issues uncovered during patching and facilitate remediation.
Identify and implement opportunities for automation and orchestration to enhance security processes, including vulnerability detection, patch regression testing, and deployment/remediation.
Empower infrastructure, platform, and application teams to bolster their security posture by leveraging security and vulnerability management tools like Brinqa and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS).
Be open to flexible hours/scheduling as needed, especially during critical environment upgrades or after-hours maintenance.
Technologies Used:
Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Tekton
Compute: Linux OS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS
Hypervisor: OpenStack
Experience with the technologies listed above can be supplemented or substituted with a proven track record of working with other disruptive technologies and achieving successful outcomes.
Required:
Prior experience in patching, lifecycle management, vulnerability management, or relevant information security roles
Preferred:
Direct administration experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift and EKS), OpenStack, and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Minimum Educational Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
1-5 years of relevant IT work experience.
