Job Description:

  • Creates engineering artifacts, snapshots, technical evaluations, and vendor assessments and presents options and recommended approaches.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop compliance automation and policy-as-code to streamline cloud governance.

  • Develops cloud-native patterns for reliability, security, scalability, maintainability, and reusability by understanding business drivers and business capabilities (future and current

  • state) and determining corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the Line of Business (LOB) or domain's targeted business outcomes.  Acts as the

  • subject matter expert for cloud-native and cloud-based technology solutions.

  • Collaborates with architects and engineering teams to evaluate and document reference architectures, patterns, and technology selection for cloud application architectures.

  • Analyzes current application portfolios and defines the target state and transition roadmap for migrating applications to the public cloud providers.

  • Contributes and maintains cloud governance framework (policies, standards, processes, and guidelines).

  • Provides consulting support to application architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned with enterprise cloud strategy and architecture.

  • Understands technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.


  • In-depth knowledge with developing cloud-native, event-driven architecture patterns and

  • modeling (Web/Mobile/API)

  • Thorough working knowledge of Terraform, Python, Ansible, Power Shell, or other automation

  • and/or configuration toolsets

  • Knowledge of software development practices like DevOps and continuous

  • integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tool chains Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, GitHub

  • Enterprise-scale technical knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructures, engineering designs,

  • migrations, and technology management

  • Strong network configuration knowledge (firewalls, VPN, routers/switches, and load

  • balancers)

  • Expert or advanced level of understanding in Microsoft & cloud technologies, such as:  Azure,

  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Security & Identity Management, Microsoft Mobile

  • Device & Workstation Management and Compliance

  • Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e., Windows and Linux IaaS, BCDR,

  • security, management, storage, networking, OSS, containers and Infra as code technologies),

  • breadth of technical experience, and technical aptitude to learn and adjust to new

  • technologies and cloud trends


  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, or related technology field from an accredited college or university preferred.  Related technical institute certification preferred.


  • Eight (8) years of related experience including four (4) years of experience in cloud engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience in engineering and implementing technical solutions in the cloud (Azure); experience with mapping new and/or existing applications/services against service offerings in the cloud; and experience with scalable architectures using Azure app service, application programming interface API management, serverless technologies, container orchestration Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc., API management, microservice frameworks etc..
