Creates engineering artifacts, snapshots, technical evaluations, and vendor assessments and presents options and recommended approaches.
Collaborates with stakeholders to develop compliance automation and policy-as-code to streamline cloud governance.
Develops cloud-native patterns for reliability, security, scalability, maintainability, and reusability by understanding business drivers and business capabilities (future and current
state) and determining corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the Line of Business (LOB) or domain's targeted business outcomes. Acts as the
subject matter expert for cloud-native and cloud-based technology solutions.
Collaborates with architects and engineering teams to evaluate and document reference architectures, patterns, and technology selection for cloud application architectures.
Analyzes current application portfolios and defines the target state and transition roadmap for migrating applications to the public cloud providers.
Contributes and maintains cloud governance framework (policies, standards, processes, and guidelines).
Provides consulting support to application architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned with enterprise cloud strategy and architecture.
Understands technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
In-depth knowledge with developing cloud-native, event-driven architecture patterns and
Thorough working knowledge of Terraform, Python, Ansible, Power Shell, or other automation
and/or configuration toolsets
Knowledge of software development practices like DevOps and continuous
integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tool chains Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, GitHub
Enterprise-scale technical knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructures, engineering designs,
migrations, and technology management
Strong network configuration knowledge (firewalls, VPN, routers/switches, and load
Expert or advanced level of understanding in Microsoft & cloud technologies, such as: Azure,
Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Security & Identity Management, Microsoft Mobile
Device & Workstation Management and Compliance
Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e., Windows and Linux IaaS, BCDR,
security, management, storage, networking, OSS, containers and Infra as code technologies),
breadth of technical experience, and technical aptitude to learn and adjust to new
technologies and cloud trends
Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, or related technology field from an accredited college or university preferred. Related technical institute certification preferred.
Eight (8) years of related experience including four (4) years of experience in cloud engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience in engineering and implementing technical solutions in the cloud (Azure); experience with mapping new and/or existing applications/services against service offerings in the cloud; and experience with scalable architectures using Azure app service, application programming interface API management, serverless technologies, container orchestration Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc., API management, microservice frameworks etc..
