Job Description:
Responsible for patient care support duties and clinic environment at the PepsiCo Employee Health & Wellness Center located in Stone Mountain, GA.
Functions under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the clinic and will perform various clinical and administrative tasks as directed.
Assist health care team with specific treatments and/or procedures.
Monitor and maintain the clinic environment in an orderly and adequately stocked manner.
Provide prompt, courteous and professional attention to the needs and requests of all patients and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and direction of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant:
Assist patients to exam room and prepare patient for examination. Obtain and record pre-examination testing to include height, weight, BMI and vital signs.
Perform delegated clinical tasks including vital signs, urine collection, blood collection, injections, electrocardiograms and routine dressing changes.
Assist health care team with specific treatments and procedures.
Administer and document specified injections as directed by NP/PA and JHU policy.
Document all clinical care provided in client's EMR in a thorough and timely manner.
Provide appropriate follow-up communication with health care team and patients.
Support health care team as directed. This includes clinical assistance, medical record retrieval, communication with relevant parties, instrument sterilization, examination room preparation, filing, stocking, equipment care/maintenance and front desk coverage.
Assist PepsiCo employees with special medical needs throughout workday as directed
Order, stock and maintain exam rooms and clinic area with standard levels of supplies and equipment.
Perform minor housekeeping tasks to keep clinic areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
Check clinic area and exam rooms for malfunctioning equipment, broken furniture and general maintenance problems on a regular basis. Report findings to appropriate person and/or arrange for repairs as required.
Participate in skill development and training through in service programs to enhance knowledge level and to ensure mastery of patient care procedures.
Maintain a positive attitude and convey enthusiasm.
Participate in team work approach to responsibilities and activities within the clinic.
Qualifications:
High school education or GED required
Completion of certified/accredited Medical Assistant training program
Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant preferred (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP)
CPR certification required
Highly effective verbal and interpersonal skills
Experience in Occupational Medicine clinic environment preferred
