Job Description:

• The primary role of the Contract Associate is working on routine manufacturing assignments detailed in written procedures and batch records, where adherence with cGMP regulations and safety is required

Shifts: 

• 12 hr rotating shift, hours 6a-6p but could change as needed by business includes regular holiday and weekend work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Media and buffer preparation including checking of raw materials.

• Assembly, cleaning, and steaming of process equipment.

• Monitoring of processes and utilities.

• Operation of control systems and processes supporting manufacturing operations.

• Completion of training requirements including training for proficiency in the operation of primary production equipment and process automation systems.

• Maintains processing area in a clean and orderly fashion.

• Train personnel (Completion of Qualified Trainer training unit is required prior to training personnel).

• Serve as designer as directed when training and qualifications are appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, etc:

• Candidate must have demonstrated good troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

• Candidates must be proficient in common computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheet, and web based applications.

• The nature of the position demands keen attention to detail.

• Candidates must display good interpersonal skills, be attentive and approachable.

• A professional and productive relationship with area management and peers is required.

• Position involves working a rotating shift, weekends ,holiday and overtime may be required.

Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:

• Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a BS degree in science, engineering, biochemistry, related discipline, or equivalent through experience gained in a related technical field

Physical Demands:

• This position is located at a medium scale manufacturing facility with classified areas requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• This role will require contact with hazardous materials such as caustic, acids and steam.

• Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching is required.

• Role also requires infrequent unassisted lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs).

• Repetitive use of arms/hand/wrists, grasping is also required. This position is a team based position that requires rotating shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Work Environment:

• The work environment involves activities in a medium scale manufacturing facility, lab space and office space. The environment includes limited exposure to noise ( > 85 dBA), hazardous chemicals and equipment temperature extremes.
