The Clinical Trial Business Partnerships (CTBP) department is focused on executing the business’ sourcing strategy across all phases of R&D development operations. This group applies a common framework to drive efficient, consistent and compliant processes for vendor relationship and management of major clinical service providers. Serving as a bridge between clinical teams and external services providers, CTBP is responsible for building the appropriate in-house management/oversight structure and mechanisms, while driving the external collaboration with clinical service providers in effort to yield a multitude of innovative ideas to deliver on goals.
This Associate Director level role reports to the Director, Global Alliance Management and is an integral member of the Global Alliance Management (GAM) team. As the line manager of the Alliance CAPA and Risk Management team within GAM, the role provides functional leadership of the team responsible for working with key stakeholders on behalf of GAM to develop and optimize tools, processes and documentation related to key alliance management business processes including CAPA and TPRM.
Line management of the Vendor Alliance Risk and Project Management team (within GAM)
Embed GAM roles and responsibilities across the organization supporting key business process including, but not limited to CAPA management; third party risk management (TPRM); and any additional Alliance Management processes as deemed appropriate by the Director of Global Alliance Management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including, but not limited to SS&P/TPRM, GCCCI, GQ-CT&S Audits and Inspections) to drive continuous improvement initiatives across CAPA management process; third party risk management (TPRM) process; and any additional Alliance Management processes as deemed appropriate by the Director of Global Alliance Management.
Prioritize and assign incoming work to members of the Vendor Alliance Risk and Project Management team including self-assigning work in the case of high priority deliverables and/or no available capacity within the team
Drive communication and training across GAM to ensure understanding of and adherence to GAMS role in processes including, but not limited to CAPA management; third party risk management (TPRM); and any additional Alliance Management processes as deemed appropriate by the Director of Global Alliance Management.
Based on quantitative and qualitative data and relevant feedback loops, develop and/or continuously optimize the tools and processes for working with internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding CAPA management; third party risk management (TPRM); and any additional Alliance Management processes as deemed appropriate by the Director of Global Alliance Management.
Assist GAM, as necessary with the management and resolution of issues pertaining to vendor CAPAs and TPRM issues
A minimum of a BA or BS Degree in a clinical or scientific discipline (advanced degree a plus)
>10 years industry experience (pharma, biotech, CRO) required; scientific, financial, and business problem solving experience desired
Strong Project Management and Stakeholder Management skills
Line management experience in staff development, coaching and motivation
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the company
Demonstrated ability of managing and working with cross-functional / global cross-country people/teams in a complex, changing environment
Travel Required: < 10%
