Job Description:
Familiarity with CDD and KYC
CAMS certification is very helpful but not required
Experience with onboarding helpful
The Negative News Screening (NNS) Reviewer will identify and assess potential Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), money laundering, and reputational risk matters identified through the execution of the firm NNS protocols for both new and existing customers.
The NNS Reviewer will have ultimate responsibility for the identification and, as appropriate, escalation of negative news events or risks.
This job involves identifying and evaluating possible risks related to money laundering, financial crimes, and reputation issues for a bank's customers. The goal is to spot and report any negative news events or risks that might be connected to the customers.
Qualifications:
Have 1-4 years of relevant experience with BSA/AML Regulations within the financial services industry, or at a financial services regulator (e.g., FINRA, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Bank, Securities and Exchange Commission, etc.) or,
1-4 years of experience in financial regulations or a related degree.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Being certified in Anti-Money Laundering is a plus.
Understanding of customer identification and risk assessment requirements.
Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
Able to work alone or in a team, even when things are busy
Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or another related field
Working knowledge of MS Office suite
Certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license is a plus
Strong knowledge of Know Your Customer, Customer Identification Program, and CDD requirements
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and with team members, under tight deadlines
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to handle highly confidential information professionally and with appropriate discretion
Can keep things confidential and handle sensitive information properly.
Remote (candidates can be located anywhere in the continental U.S. but MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT EASTERN TIME ZONE)
Key Responsibilities:
Review news and customer information to check for any negative news about clients.
Follow the bank's protocols to assess and escalate potential risks found in the news.
Collaborate with different teams to manage and fix money laundering and reputation-related problems.
Make sure all processes follow the bank's rules and suggest improvements as needed.
