Agile Scrum Master

Job Description:


  • Strongly serve and support the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers

  • Understand how the product owner’s vision translates to user stories

  • Work with product manager to handle backlog, new requests, and changes

  • Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlog.

  • Track technical dependences and related features in order to best guide team on day-day delivery activities

  • Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example. This person should personify Scrum and Agile.

  • Measure velocity and burn down rate to help team improve planning

  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization

  • Facilitate internal communicate and effective collaboration.

  • Resolve conflicts, and remove roadblocks that occur, to ensure 100% commitments are achieved.

  • Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint

  • Help build a product environment where team members “own” the product

  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.

  • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution

  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information


  • First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM )

  • Second or Third level Scrum Master certification (PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC) is a plus

  • Min 3 years experience leading agile teams as scrum master role

  • Min 3 years' experience building and/or maintaining eCommerce systems

  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.

  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches, like: Kanban, Crystal, FDD, XP, etc is a plus

  • Should have knowledge about Agile techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)

  • The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum"

  • B2B eCommerce and/or supply chain, distribution industry experience a plus
