Job Description:

This position is onsite and based in Washington, DC, with infrequent travel to Baltimore.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Move Responsibilities 50%

  • Act as a conduit of information between JHU employees and move team.

  • Coordinate move activities for AAP.

  • Implement a document retention program for their group; coordinate with the JHU Move team for any ongoing requirements.

  • Distribute employee move handbook to all employees in their group.

  • Distribute moving supplies to AAP faculty and staff (crates/boxes, labels, etc.); forward requests for specialty packing materials and additional supplies to move team.

  • Keep employees in their group informed of all pertinent move-related information.

  • Be familiar with packing and labeling guidelines; act as a resource for their group.

  • Populate, review, and validate their groups from/to spreadsheets including people and equipment.

  • Participate in pre-move Move Coordinator meetings.

  • Be available to answer questions during mover walk-throughs.

  • Help move team ensure that each employee within their group is properly packed in a timely fashion.

  • Verify employees completed check-out sheets and work with the move team to collect all check-out sheets and complete a pre-move walkthrough.

  • Assist in the post-move process. Encourage employees to perform a thorough check of their workspace and computer equipment to ensure everything is accounted for and functioning properly. Remind employees to take advantage of the Help Desk resources available on the day following their move.

  • Operations & Facilities Support Services - 50%

  • Coordinate with AAP events for catering, audio/visuals, and room needs and troubleshoot to resolve issues.

  • Manage and coordinate operations for AAP facilities at 2701 N. Charles St., and the Bernstein-Offit Office Building at 1717 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington, DC.

  • Work with building management to ensure proper functioning of facilities, lighting, AC/Heating, etc.

  • Assign office/workspace needs for 2701 N. Charles St., and Bernstein-Offit Office Building.

  • Coordinate use of spaces with other divisional schools (e.g. KSAS, SAIS, SOE) and outside leasing partners.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be forward thinking, service oriented, self-motivated, organized, and a detail-oriented team player who is capable of participating in collaborative facilities/operations processes and activities.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems in creative and proactive ways.

  • Strong and comprehensive oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with multiple constituencies in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

Supervisory Responsibility:
2 or more student workers

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 1-3 years relevant experience

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education.
